The Source Of Good Sense Of Humor
Your brain is the most important part of your body. Its basic function includes mental coordination, reasoning, communication within and outside your body, coordination of the function of other organs, etc. The importance of the brain to a person can’t be overstated. Several schools of thought believe man is made of three entities; body, soul, and mind. The body is a physical entity that can communicate with the physical world, the soul is a mystical part of man, and it is believed to be the part of man that departs to the afterlife after death. While the mind is a conscious part of man, which is responsible for making decisions and taking active actions by man. Our mind is believed to reside in the grey matter, plus some schools of thought even believe this organ itself is the mind.
This organ is responsible for the unique and ever-varying personalities of different humans. That’s why transplants of other organs and other parts of the body exist. But a transplant of the thinking organ to another human being is highly frowned upon by the ethical bodies that guide medical procedures. This organ plays a huge role in determining your social relations and how you behave in the public. A sense of humor exists as an ability of a person to find humor in things, they understand what will be funny to others and get the funny sides of what others say.
A person with a good sense of humor usually has better social relationships with others in their society. Making other humans laugh plus happy is a great feeling to the initiator/the receiver. Humans want to feel good and they tend to go closer to others that make them feel this way. To emphasize the importance of having a great sense of humor, people are ready to pay to listen to people with a great sense of humor speak. They are known as comedians plus they make their means of livelihood by developing their sense of humor plus taking advantage of it to make people happy. You don’t have to be a comedian to need to have an appreciation for humor, even for you to attend a comedy show, you need to have a pretty good sense of humor. What’s responsible for us having a great sense of humor?
You guessed right, it is your brain, but not an entirety of this organ, humor appreciation is connected to the lower frontal lobes of your brain. This part of your brain is also responsible for emotional/social judgment with planning. People who suffer from any medical condition that impairs the function of these lower frontal lobes of the grey matter may experience a loss of their sense of humor. A human without a sense of humor is like a world without a sun, just bare and lifeless. It is usually extremely difficult for these people to relate well with other beings in their social circle. A sense of humor is a great part of a human life plus life without it is unimaginable.
